Bright Lights

Passion and movement
Driving ambition
A taste for the finer things
A love of the wilder things
Simple yet complex
Paradoxically reflects
Insecurities pushed deep
Fast asleep

Opportunity knocks
Not to be wasted
A call from the other side
To cross a gulf both deep and wide
To some other place
In some other space
Establish a new base
To see your face

And your name in lights by the sun and sea
And your name lit bright up on the marquee
And your name in lights by the sun and the sea
And your name lit bright up on the marquee

Movement with purpose
Calculated risk
Keep your eye on the prize
Keep your eyes open wide
You were always a star
To everyone who matters
You'll always be a star
Near or far

Never still
Always moving forward
Fifteen minutes or fifteen years
A lifetime of joy or bitter tears
The land of the sand
Can swallow men whole
When you look in the mirror
See yourself

And your name in lights by the distant sea
And your name lit bright up on the marquee
And your name in lights by that far-away sea
And your name lit bright up on the marquee
